General overview

ZoogVPN is another private networking service provider in the crowded market of VPNs. It is based in Greece and was pioneered in 2013. Based in a privacy-friendly country, the VPN has a solid no-logs policy. The only information it collects is the upload and download data transferred on its servers. However, ZoogVPN falls short in security features and protocols. It uses basic industry-standard features, and the service uses no advanced features.

The VPN also isn’t ideal for streaming. The VPN allows dedicated servers for gaming, streaming, and torrenting. The speeds of the ZoogVPN are generic. It has consistent speeds on local servers but suffers when it comes to international servers. ZoogVPN has custom apps for a wide range of devices. It includes Windows, Linux, Mac, IOS, Android, and Wi-Fi routers. Besides, you can enjoy up to 5 devices simultaneously with one subscription plan

Security

ZoogVPN provides pretty basic security features and protocols. It offers industry-standard AES-256 encryption. OpenVPN (TCP/UDP) and IKEv2/IPSec protocols. For security, you are allowed a Kill-switch feature, protecting you in case of unexpected VPN connection dropouts. Also, a SOCKS proxy can give you the best download speeds. ZoogVPN doesn’t provide any additional features but includes bare essentials.

The VPN doesn’t contain advanced features like WireGuard protocol and other state-of-art features like Port-forwarding, Split-tunneling, built-in Ad-blockers, and more. However, the VPN doesn’t leak any IP, DNS, and WebRTC data. Overall, ZoogVPN is a safe and secure VPN service but is not recommended for experienced users.

Score 8.0

Speeds

Just like the majority of the VPNs, ZoogVPN provides fast speeds on local servers and has slightly lower speeds on distant servers. Speeds depend significantly on the protocols you use, the time of the day, the location of the user, and the servers. However, the VPN records an average 8% to 12% drop on local servers and a 65% to 75% loss in farthest locations. ZoogVPN’s speed doesn’t disappoint; You may experience HD streaming, smooth gaming, torrenting, and browsing the web quickly and smoothly. For a lesser-known product, ZoogVPN’s speeds are very, very good.

Servers

Despite being in the market for seven years, you only get 1000s of IPs in 26 countries and 50 locations. Most of the servers are available in Europe and a handful of servers in other continents like Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Unfortunately, there are no VPN servers in South America.

ZoogVPN is disappointing when it comes to streaming. It unblocks a few streaming sites like Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer, and Disney+. However, the infamous Netflix libraries and significant sites like HBO Max, Hulu, and DAZN all remain blocked.

Torrenting is a good option when using ZoogVPN, but it isn’t ideal. It has optimised P2P servers for torrenting and all necessary features like Kill-switch and a no-logs policy which is vital for a suitable privacy policy. Although, the port-forwarding feature isn’t supported, which is considered an essential feature for torrenting.

Score 6.5

Support

ZoogVPN provides all the industry-standard options for customers’ help and support. The VPN offers Online Resources help option, which provides step-by-step guides for setup, troubleshooting, and other technicalities. A Live Chat Support option is available for quick assistance. Though it isn’t available 24/7, the FAQs option also contains the solutions for most faced problems.

Overview - Conclusion

ZoogVPN is a good service with fast speeds, a private logging policy, and an excellent pricing plan. Though, it has an unreliable customer support and is horrible for unblocking geo-restricted content.
